MSCA 2020

Achieving more together

Online Conference, 29 September 2020

Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions 2020 German Presidency Online Conference

29 September 2020

The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research would like to thank all participants for their valuable contributions and the fruitful discussions during the MSCA 2020 – Achieving more together  German Presidency Conference of 29 September 2020.

Due to the unexpected developments in 2020 it was, unfortunately, not possible to hold the conference in the form it had been originally planned. We very much would have liked to welcome you all in Berlin in person. Nevertheless, we are convinced that together we have achieved a conference that was enriching for all sides, even in the new virtual format.

Around 550 participants attended the conference throughout the day and followed the opening remarks of the German Federal Minister of Education and Research, Anja Karliczek, and the EC Director General for Education, Youth, Sports and Culture, Themis Christophidou. During the following panel discussion, Vanessa Debiais-Sainton (EC), Peter Greisler (BMBF), Igor Papič (University of Ljubljana) and Antonio Serra (University of Lisbon) discussed future opportunities and obstacles in regard to the possible synergies between the European University Initiative and the MSCA in H2020 and Horizon Europe. In the afternoon, the participants had the opportunity to discuss the different perspectives of “Supervision in the MSCA and beyond” in four parallel workshops.

Panel Discussion

We are very pleased that the MSCA Falling Walls Lab formed the framework of the conference. Twenty outstanding MSCA Fellows presented their research to the jury and the audience and competed for the jury and the audience prizes. Congratulations to the winners! You can rewatch all pitches here.
